Professor Holbrook received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering (summa cum laude) from North Carolina State University and his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as a lead editor and publications director of the Yale Journal on Regulation. After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Glenn L. Archer, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Following his clerkship, Professor Holbrook spent time in Budapest, Hungary, with the Hungarian patent law firm Danubia. Prior to joining the faculty at Emory Law, Professor Holbrook taught at Chicago-Kent and was an associate with the Washington, D.C., law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding, where his practice focused on patent litigation.
