Professor Tim Holbrook holds the prestigious titles of Provost’s Professor and Robert B. Yegge Endowed Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where his expertise shines brightly. His academic journey began with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, graduating summa cum laude, followed by a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he distinguished himself as a lead editor and publications director of the Yale Journal on Regulation.

Following his time at Yale, Professor Holbrook embarked on a clerkship with the Honorable Glenn L. Archer, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, honing his legal acumen and gaining invaluable insights into the judiciary. His pursuit of legal excellence led him to Budapest, Hungary, where he furthered his expertise in patent law at the esteemed firm Danubia.

Prior to his esteemed tenure at the University of Denver, Professor Holbrook made significant contributions to legal education and scholarship at Emory University School of Law, where he held the distinguished position of Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Law. During his time at Emory, he served as the law school’s associate dean of faculty and the university’s vice provost for faculty affairs, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to academic excellence. 

Before his tenure at Emory, Professor Holbrook embarked on his academic career at Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology, laying the foundation for his impactful contributions to legal education. Additionally, he gained valuable practical experience as an associate at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding (now Wiley), where he specialized in patent litigation, further enhancing his expertise in the field.

With a distinguished career marked by academic excellence, legal scholarship, and practical experience, Professor Holbrook continues to inspire and lead in the legal community, enriching the academic landscape and shaping the future of legal education and practice.
